Stand Against Racism!—23rd March, Belfast
Far-right groups have planned to mobilize in answer to this; the people of Belfast will rally at Belfast City Hall on the 23rd of March at 1 pm.
Last year, protests were held by several groups, including Loyalists and Fascists from Dublin, who bussed up to Belfast for the day to join hands with their bitter brethren against anyone not perceived to be “local.” Counter-demonstrations took place at City Hall.
After the demonstrations broke up, hotels holding refugee families were attacked, and individuals were physically attacked in the streets of Belfast City. Rioting ensued for several nights after this.
A peaceful demonstration is being called for the 23rd of March to stand against the organized actions of the far-right.
Thank you.
